Dummie's Guide to Creating DVD Movies Using iDVD Program on Macbook

For anyone with a family, creating DVD movies is an important skill because this can be a great way for you to preserve family memories and capture those special memories. After all, the human memory does not last forever, so if you have the ability to capture those special moments on a disc and watch them at any time, then it will bring you a lot of satisfaction as your children grow.
This skill is also useful for putting movies onto a dvd media disc and creating a backup copy of a dvd disc that you legally own. What you will need is the IDVD program which comes along with your Mac. You will also need to have a super drive for burning DVD media on your Mac. Please note that this drive usually comes standard on Macbook Pro, this means that even if you do not know you have a DVD burner you will be fine with what you have. All you need to do is follow these simple steps and you will be on your way to creating the DVD media that you desire:
1) Open IDVD from your dock, if you can not find it then you will use the search function and type in IDVD and once the program is found you will click on it to open the program. At this point you will see the user interface with a few options for your creation preference.
2) Click on the option that says create project, this option appears first in the list.
3) Choose a name and location for you to save your file and make sure that you note where you place the file because you will need to access it later if you place on making another copy of the movie.
4) You will see a screen which shows the material that is currently on the DVD. On the right side of your screen toward the bottom you will see a themes button. You should click this and alter the theme to fit the theme of your DVD. Once you have one selected you will need to add the media.
5) On the left side of the screen you will see the addition symbol and you can click on this button to locate your movie file. Once you found the file you confirm the addition of the file and you can click the play/preview button at the bottom of your screen.
6) Once the project looks the way you would like it is ready to be burned. Click on the burn button which is located next to the play button and your project will begin to write.
